Its been a few month now since I wrote anything in my blog. Can't say that I am not that active any more. But somehow I just can't seem to find the right time to do anything with my blog now that I've been working my ass off. :P
Anyway, good thing I took a retreat to Jakarta 4 days ago. Feels like it is not a holiday but more or less like a survivor. Because...
- You must be mentally and physically fit to roam and shop in Tanah Abang, Mangga Dua and Thambrin City,
- Calling for a Taxi is like being into war with others.
- You have to be mentally prepared on how Indonesian drivers drive.
- You want to walk to the nearest mall?
- You must be prepared to cross the street. Indonesian drivers will not slow down. Your hand!!! Is your tool and weapon.
- Be prepared to face tepi jalan hawkers food. You must be mentally prepared to see how they prepare their food.
- Even if it is a 200M walk from your hotel, clutching hard onto your handbag is like you are holding on to your life.
- You must be smart when ordering food and drinks. Take note that the waters in Indonesia are dirty, so order up only mineral water when you eat in restaurants. Unless it is a hotel and some high quality food, you may trust this place. Or not be prepared to face a very.... very upset stomach.
- Coming back to the hotel from where you came is like a sense of relief. It is like you have been given life back.
- Be physically and mentally prepared for Indonesians who calls you and insist you to buy their stuff.
- Be smart when bargaining. Indonesians tends to double counter you back. *They are smart, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEM!*
- Recognize their money notes so that you don't look like a 100% foreigner. They will take advantage of you once they see how much money you bring while you are busy searching and counting for the right notes to give.
- You can be yourself, when you shop, but some of them tend to be bias towards Foreigners. Be aware!!
- Don't trust hawkers food (Tepi jalan)
- Don't trust hawkers food (Tepi jalan)
- Don't trust hawkers food (Tepi jalan)
- Don't trust hawkers food (Tepi jalan)
- Don't trust hawkers food (Tepi jalan)... No matter how yummy the food smell, Do not trust them!!! You have been warned! Why? Hygiene matter... They are the lowest of the lowest!
I think that seems it. Survivor of the fittest. That is what I feel like when I am in Jakarta. :P

Jakarta at night :D Taken from my hotel window.
Yes, I am very vain. :)
So there you have it. I can't seem to stop and take pictures of the situation in Tanah Abang, Mangga dua and etc.. HECTIC like shit okay. Besides, there were too many people and too many stuff to look at. No time, and I feel that my phone is best kept in my bag at all times. Why? Indonesians there uses handphone nokia dulu dulu, so they would be sakai sikit bila nmpk touch screen handphone with large screen. Don't you think so? Also, pick pockets are very popular there. So be extra careful!!!
I think I will stop it here. :) I Gots Work tomorrow. :D
Till then,
Stay tune!
